He's not better than George Best.

The only one's who can really judge this are the people who have seen both play.

So if Ronaldo is better than Best, then by definition he must also be better than Cruyff.

(Johan, not Jordi)

I'm bored of these comparisons. Ronaldo is Ronaldo, Not Best not Cantona, not John Barnes

I suspect he thinks too much of himself to come out with that though.

I thought someone like Cruyff would have more sense than to compare Ronaldo to Law.

As if he believes that. He's doing what all these great players from the past seem to do nowadays - giving the audience what they want to hear.

Great players, but gobshites.

I'm not picking another argument with you about it

Ronaldo's a great player & will hopefully achieve the Legendary status that Best & Law have at Manchester United, but it's far too early to be saying that he's better than all our past greats.
It's pretty flippant & unfair on those great players.
Cruyff often comes out with %@#$&!s like this, it's nothing new.
I don't think he's too keen on British players as a rule.

My dad saw Best in his prime. Added to that he is Northern Irish and therefore liable to be biased towards him.

In spite of that he has said "Ronaldo this season is every bit as good as best was at his peak".

So there you have it. Another opinion.

best was retired long before i was born. i'd love to have seen him play, because i can barely imagine anyone playing football better than ronaldo is right now. he must have been some player.
