Correct, I’ve known good strikers in the highest amateur league picking up a few hundred quid a game for teams with well off owners trying to get up to semi pro.

It's not even them wanting to move up, it's them wanting to stay a big fish in a small pond... I got paid more on Sundays turning out for Cale Green than playing pro (well, as a YTS anyway)
