Agreed.

TBF, we were excellent against them last year in terms of how we set up, just ran out of steam and sat back too much in the league game. I suspect he might go with Giggs and Carrick in the middle as it worked so well last season. Great to think we might actually have some midfield and wide options for the big games coming up.

Was jesting a bit. He will get from box to box though in a way none of our other midfielders seem able to do and in doing so, allow space for Carrick to play.

No. I like the lad and he certainly has a nice little touch but I think Chelsea will be a war of attrition and putting Berbs with his ability to hold a ball up I think would tactically be superior to Welbers. Also the Welbmeister looks good from the bench and adds a bit of pace and presence in the later parts of games yet seems to slightly peter out in the second half of a match (see the missed golden chances against Arsenal and Liverpool) and so having him in the positions to have those chances against a tired defence with a brimmed tank and bit of fire still in his belly would be better imho.
