John Motson will hang up his mic and sheepskin after this seasons cup final. Senile £#%&!er has been shit for years. Still...Motty isn't it. Nostalgia, jumpers for goalposts etc...

He's not retired he's just at the end of his bbc contract and it won't be renewed.

He's a shocker. Listening to him commentate is like driving with one of my dogs in the back seat, travelling along all calm like then he suddenly barks in my earhole at absolutely NOTHING. I'm sure he thinks he's seen something but no, nothing. Then he settles down for a sleep and gets momentarily confused when I wake him up.

They should have put him in a small room with a muted microphone several years ago.
