But Atticus assured me he'd be sold this summer

If he improves as much this season as he did last, he might have a future.

Christ he was dog-shit before, but it's been a borderline spectacular turnaround from the lad. I hope there's another level, he was adequate last term but nowhere near enough in an attacking sense to justify improving £100k p/w wages ffs

Thought he played well in another wise lackluster team performance against Wolves.

Looked a lot better going forward...might give Dalot some competition this year.

Contributing with an assist is a good start, being worse at tackling isn’t good. He still doesn’t overlap enough and he certainly doesn’t play quick enough (albeit the whole team was taking 2-3 touches when they should be 1-2 at all times).

Sums us up a bit right now, he’s not total shit but he’s nowhere near his potential. The coaching surely can’t be focused on a half decent RB when so much of it is about shape and positional / intensity / dynamic problem solving.

That side looked baffled. We need another 6 weeks of pre-season to load the fundamentals back into them.

Think he only managed to play the full first team proper in the last game of the preseason? The games where we had only 1-2 second teamers were the Madrid and RC lens games. They clearly need a few games to get up to scratch.

Got his assist but like everybody else out there today we need to see vast improvement from AWB

Don't really know why I'm wasting my time responding to this.

He's gone from being sidelined and almost booted out the door by Ten Hag, to starting the opening game in the starting 11.

He's turned things around and is getting his contract extended. I don't understand what you don't get about offering Dalot some competition. NIce contribution though.

It's clearly a position we need an upgrade, neither him or Dalot are at the standard required. Probably happen next summer.

to be quite honest I don't know wtf ten hag is trying to do with the full-backs. looked at times like we were trying the city/arsenal thing of bringing them into central midfield which completely didn't work. in fact it was a mess.

Yep, he may have improved, but he's still not good enough.

Would be an interesting one. Depends how 10HAG wants his full backs to play though, as he has often put inverted one of them into midfield.

Frimpong is very much a wing back who attacks with width. But if 10HAG wants us to become the best transition team in the World, he is absolutely rapid

Well he managed to spoon a cross that found a united player.

Caught repeatedly on the ball fanning around. The most basic right foot side foot passing - almost always backwards. A mad foul near the touchline. Let his runner run off him near the end almost conceding the equaliser. The usual AWB fayre.

Has he ever switched the play with a cross field ball? Ever dinked a ball behind the opposition fullback for a forward to run onto? No - because he's fundamentally a shit footballer.

An absolute dog turd of a player. Will start worrying about Erik if he keeps playing him.

A plus from last night. Aside from his wild lunge and moment where he and Pellistri switched, he was very solid and continues to improve coming forward. He still looks awkward, but his execution is streets ahead of where it was.

Nice assist and good cross for the Rasjford header in the first half.

Have we Brundle-flyed the new kid and Marcus?

And yep, AWB clearly our MoM last night - worlds tallest dwarf etc - but was the only one that actually looked ready for the new season. The others looked like they’d been woken up from some deep space travel type sleep about half an hour before kick off

Agreed. Thought him, Onana and Varane were good. Sancho good when he came on. Everyone else was anywhere between meh and shocking
