Up there with Pele and Maradona as a contender to be the greatest player of all time

He might not have had the great dribbling ability of either Pele or Maradona but he was a much more intelligent player

Here he is in 1963 FA centenary match playing for the rest of the world against England


And this is Di Stefano in his prime for Real Madrid against French champions Nice in the season he won his last European Cup

I interviewed the Law man years ago and he said Di Stefano was the best he'd ever seen or played with. "Even better than Best?" I asked. "Just" replied the King.
