Default Doomsday planning: what if Mourinho stays?

I realise this is the last thing anybody even wants to consider, but let's look at the Fatherland scenario.

The day Edward has dreaded is finally upon him. Zou Zou for Mou Mou. The Glazers will ream him a new one. 'You said you had Jose under control, little one?'. 'Wasteful, most wasteful'.

But what could he offer Jose that he hadn't already?
New contract signed last January. Plus one for Martial - can't rescind that.
Pogba untouchable unless a truly stupid fee is secured, Glazers might like that... must open back channel with PSG.

What's left?

First there would have to be a raft of briefs. Jose is untouchable. Players need to get on board or start looking for new clubs (text to Pogba, not you mate xxx).

This would have to be followed by a January signings bonanza. A raft of ins and outs featuring the likes of Darmian and Alderweireld. The summer we should have had, he'll no doubt say.

Mendes will want a cast iron guarantee that summer 2019 will involve another big spending/selling programme. I will £#%&! him on that though.

Thus Woodward sees off a nosy DOF and avoids having to admit yet another managerial appt failure.

Thoughts?

Does anyone actually want to see Mourinho backed with more money given the calibre of player he's bought to the club so far (and his love of Fellaini and Young?)

It's a secret plan to get fans to switch to watching the women's team. Goals galore, top of the league and some even more attractive than Mata.

He stays and we rip it up and start again? Then 18 months from now he is playing a similar style of shit football with a new cast and falling out with his new star players and dropping subbies at the club, because as we all know Mourinho can never be accountable for anything.

You really think they’ve not already got Zidane lined up?

No chance Mourinho sees the end of October

They’ll probably wait until 4th is mathematically gone so they can sack him for peanuts like with Moyes, even if that means writing this season off.

Tells you everything you need to know about the boards main priorities tbf.

We all knew it was a hail Mary, and we all knew it could go horribly wrong, but after vG and Moyes we were increasingly desperate. Desperate people make bad decisions. Woodward is not good with football matters.
