Also doesn't help, in both the systems he's played the most, that we've had no full-backs. Going into a season with two full-backs has cost us, as even when covering to a reasonable extent Young and Valencia produce nothing like the quality we need.

Absolutely despise Jonny Evans, but he made some interesting points earlier this week when he spoke of the defensive work going in on the training ground, and how Van Gaal wants that to be in place before we unleash our attacking freedom.
If we secure top 4, this summer will be the most exciting in recent memory given the funds Woody will undoubtedly let Louis spend, the desire for players to come to United, and the general preference that Van Gaal has for technically-gifted footballers.
