Question Am I wrong for not supporting England?

Have had dog’s abuse today because I’ve let it be known that I’ve always hated the England national team, and have actively supported their opponents whenever they’ve played in big tournaments.

I’ve always defended myself, but I’ve found that as I’ve got older, the total intolerance to my stance has seemed to grow stronger and stronger. Got banned from WhatsApp groups today for having the temerity of celebrating Columbia’s equaliser.

Seems like I’m living in North Korea, tbf. Feel like a criminal for not getting behind the white shirts, making shit jokes about how “it’s coming home” and humming the anthem all day. Just makes me feel even more strongly about my stance. £#%&! England, and £#%&! their shithouse fans. C’mon Sweden!!

Love people who do things they know will upset people & still try to make out they're the victims when it happens

Obviously you are aware that your lack of support for the England team is a mere totem of your rejection of the concept of membership of the group.

Perfectly reasonable

England are the FAs team, and their treatment of united over the years is scandalous

The supporters...sure there are some decent ones, but small town Brexit racist @#%&!s shout the loudest

And finally....cannot support a team who sings that national anthem

No, I watched it at my mate’s and I genuinely wasn’t fussed outside our players doing well and not becoming the victim of national hatred. Is just like watching any international team featuring United players.

Each to their own

Always want them to win but they have flattered to deceive in recent times.

Fair play this time as they may not win it or even go any further but at least this current team looks arsed

Why the £#%&! do people get upset about it though?

I find some of the reactions incredibly strange. Someone finds out you’re not backing Gareth’s brave lads, and it’s like you’ve killed their entire family.

England fans are @#%&!s, and support a team that is, by and large, packed with @#%&!s. I find it impossible to want them to succeed; it’s almost on a par with wanting Liverpool not to succeed.

I want them to win for my own selfish reasons. I’m English and want to have a successful national side.

However, as a general rule, the players, management, fans, FA and the England £#%&!ing Band can all go and £#%&! themselves bloody with a marrow.

I can therefore be happy when they win, and indulge in a bit of schadenfreude when they fail. Not to mention it’s then funny to wind up the mill town scum who love England till they die.

But always, ALWAYS, United > England.

Hate them usually but don't mind sticking up for them in tournaments. Watched with my lad tonight who watches and plays and I've never seen him so excited (partly because United's major successes were when he was younger and less interested) so got a bit carried away myself with it.

Would still lol if Pogba scored the winner against them in the final though.

Some wonderful scenes out on the streets.

Feel a bit sorry for anyone who doesn't want to enjoy it for one reason or another.

V beige side with a beige manager right now.

Hard to like. At least El Tel had a bit of spiv charm about him. 'Psycho' Pearce, bloody Butcher, Gazza the absolute #@&%!. Like it or not they were characters.

All about Lingard, Rashers, Young and laughing when Henderson £#%&!s up - which is inevitable.

If the higher management of that national team had consistently stitched up your local team, and if the fans of that national team had regularly booed players of your local team is it still odd?
