Far more consistently brilliant than Maradona but maybe Diego just edges him in the best I've seen stakes for having done it in World Cups. Plus I've actually seen him play, in the flesh, not been lucky enough to have seen Messi yet.

Messi also entirely lacks Maradona's self-destructive streak, though if I'm honest that was part of Maradona's charm.

I can appreciate how good Messi is, but something just doesn't sit right. He's a bit too good. Ronaldo might be a massive #@&%!, but I'd take him back in a heartbeat. Messi is a little snide.
