Post The Daily Tevez Thread

Nothing to report here and nothing in the tabs. Was at Carrington yesterday and, as you know, didn't travel with any of the sides for the friendlies. Must be nearing an end, surely?

Plenty in the tabs and all over the internet.

- Mirror claiming it'll be sorted today.

- Couple of reports it'll be sorted today but he won't play til The Derby

- More reports that it'll drag on even longer.

This is the only article with new quotes...

the pl said they are not going to rush it. i heard they can only manage to read one page (of the contract) a day, as it's just too complicated!

i don't expect it to be done this week.

I have just phoned up the PL and asked them what's taking so long. Apparently the usual guy who signs off loan deals is on paternity leave (his wife had just given birth 4 weeks earlier than anticipated). The other lad who countersigns them has £#%&!ed off to the Algarve this morning for a long weekend - he got a cracking deal by all accounts.

Maurice Watkins is going £#%&!ing mad.

This may be going over old ground, but I don't quite understand this bit...

''Tevez, who will earn around £90,000-a-week, is joining United on a two-year loan deal from the companies that effectively own his economic rights with the option for the Premiership champions to then sign him permanently for a further three years.''

Surely, if we sign him after the initial 2 years, he is ours for as long as we want him, not just 3 years? Otherwise we will just be extending the loan deal by three years.

There is no way that Tevez will sign for us permanently. Do you really think Kirobachian (sp?) will sell us the rights to Tevez? Ok, he will get a nice fee but the lad for got 12 years at the top left and he will miss out on a lot of cash from future transfers.

He will play for us for two years, then join Real Madrid and they will both get another nice big pay cheque.

2 year loan followed by option of a three year follow on permanent deal.

If we were to take up that option he would then be 'ours'.

No chance. He is Kia's goldenboy. See post above.

That would be up to United. The deal currently being looked at is in effect a five year contract, providing United stump up £25-30M at the start of year 3.

(For the record, I doubt that'll happen either.)

If we take up that option, is not up to us how long he signs for?

I just can't see Kia not holding his rights.
