Dumped out of the CL when 10 1st teamers were unavailable. Ended the season with a cup win and a core of youngsters. Liverpool in the EL was disgusting.

Amongst the worst squad management in the clubs history. Horrific. Set us back years.

PSV 1–2
VfL Wolfsburg 2–1
CSKA Moscow 1–1
CSKA Moscow 1–0
PSV 0–0
VfL Wolfsburg 2–3

How many of the four matches we failed to win were we missing 10 first teamers?

But there was an inner strength there, a tenacity and determination and slowly they started to re-emerge. At first some simple foundation stones led by their leader calling Ole an ‘exciting but naive appointment’ whilst everyone else was enjoying the warm glow of the post nuclear winter left by Mou. They grew in strength initially but through successive results and incredible squad strengthening, they again lost their grip.

But they’d learnt something - they’d found weaknesses just like water does, searching out small fissures and biding their time. It’s hard not to admire their resolve. The re-emergence of grinchers isn’t just some random act ladies and gentlemen. It’s a calculated strategy designed to pounce of those weaknesses.

And so, the Mou Mou lads are now in the ascendency with the ole lads now firmly in retreat.

Personally, I see a pyrrhic victory ahead of us all.
This is spot on.

The Knights of Mourinho have been significantly underestimated, NQAT. At one point it almost felt cruel to kick them whilst they were down, as Jose disintegrated in such predictably typical fashion at Spurs, but the move back to Italy, combined with the choppy waters Ole has floated into, has catalysed a second wind, and just when you thought these lads were out, they pull themselves back in.

Grinchy's return is like that of the Witch King of Angmar arriving at the Battle of Minis Tirith, and Saffers has been rejuvenated with a new strength like a revived Saruman the White pulling strings from on high.

The Fellowship are going to have to pull out something special to slay this formidable of a foe.

"For Ole..."
