Default John 'Motty' Motson down

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...tator-29290719

found him quite an irritating commentator tbf. Always felt his bumper book of not very interesting facts rather got in the way of him actually commentating on the game.

Couldn't stand him.

Brian Moore still the best dead commentator around.

I thought Motson was good value, he was a real football man. He liked his ale, I hope that wasnt his downfall

Never cared much for him back in the day. He was such an anorak that he always seemed slightly ridiculous to me then. Less so now.

He never said anything about United or a United game that ever annoyed me, or struck me as harsh or unfair. That's saying something, considering how many games he commentated on.

He just seemed to love football and wanted both teams to play well. Deserves his place in the history of English football, MIO. Glad he lived to be old and went in his sleep.

Was he a good crimbo tipper? I bet he was.

Did he meet you at the door with his mic?

‘And here coming up the path is young redders, a recent signing by the local papershop, shows lots of early promise on his round’

fair.

a bit of a harold and hilda sweater of a commentator, but harmless enough.

do not want mateyness, women or jonathan pearce squeaks. easy enough to ignore motty.
