Default Sunderland have got real problems next season...

£5m on Chopra and £5.5m on Richardson? If i was a Sunderland fan i would not be happy with that. Also missed out on Nugent.

They have also lost Evans and Simpson aswell.

Thoughts...

Top 10. I rate Keane.

I fancied them for a top 10 finish, not now though.

Desperation signings me thinks. They're set to get Dickson Etuhu aswell.

Meanwhile, the two clubs I fancied to go down have both signed pretty well: Wigan and Fulham.

so do i. 14th will be decent considering they've just come up. everyone keeps going on about wigan and reading, but the truth is they are the exceptions that prove the rule. most newly-promoted clubs go straight back down, or just stay up.

I rate Paul Jewell and Adie Boothroyd too. Doesn't mean they ain't gonna struggle.

I'm sure he'll get the best out of the players at his disposal. But are they good enough to keep him up?

Where are the goals going to come from? Who stand out in that side - it's bloody Richardson now!

they have signed decent players.

richardson will give them that attacking edge.

they have a decent squad.

chopra had a much better season that nugent who is just overrated.

they arent going to sign players we will sign.

sunderland and west ham will both stay up this year.

Yeah but teams like Fulham and Wigan (Who won't sign players we will sign) have done considerably better than Sunderland in the transfer market. Koumas was a great signing for Wigan. Melchiot would do a job aswell.

what price would you get on Keane to be the first manager to quit ?

I think they'll acheive saftey relatively easily, Can't see them getting nowhere near the top half of the table somehow.

The second season however, is when we'll see if Keano's got what it takes to be a prem manager...

I disagree.

The only teams i can think of that are worse off or are about the same level are Reading and Derby. Maybe Birmingham aswell.

I think Keane has the makings of an excellent manager but he's lost half his starting defence from last season and got no replacements. He'll do well to stay up.

Reading will struggle this season. They haven't signed anyone worth noting and Sidwell leaving was a big blow for them. Wouldn't suprise me if they went down.

You're forgetting the newbie factor, the sole reason Reading stayed up and the only reason why West Ham got into europe the season before.

If you think they'll go down I'm more than willing to take that bet.

Ipswich Town finished 5th, went into Europe - then were shocking next the next season and got relegated.

I predict the same thing for Reading.
