Default Two things.

1. Given that Heinze can buy out his contract for around £6m and go where he likes, as long as it's to another league, we'd be doing very £#%&!ing well indeed to get £10m for him from Real Madrid.

2. Going from any subject whatsoever to Hitler in one thread is pretty much standard for every message board ever. Hence Godwin's Law, formulated back in 1990.

I thought that. The only thing I can think of is that, given that this is a new law and so far hasn't been exercised in transfers between big clubs, Real are reluctant to damage relations with the club they will, at some stage in the future, approach for Ronaldo's services. Therefore, they want to do the deal in the conventional manner, which for them constitutes paying well over the odds for players they want.

With all due respect, £4.5m is a lot of money and I can't see a lot of players taking up this new rule.

there are too many desperate clubs out there with money and trying to keep their supporters happy.

villa, hammers, everton, newcastle, sunderland, portsmouth....

some clubs with managers who like british players...

Gabby opened up a high interest halifax one account when he joined and has been putting money aside for a rainy day since. Rumour has it he has saved at least 4.5 mil already.

Well, Hitler did always maintain that the invasion of Poland was retaliation for a Polish attack on a German radio station.
The fact is was staged by the Germans is a slightly moot point.
