Absolutely spot on the G & G campaign & nothing else has brought this about.

Manchester United has confirmed it is freezing ticket prices next season.

There has been criticism of the Glazers for price rises since their takeover in 2005, and many fans have joined a green -and-gold protest against the owners.

As recently as this month, there had speculation that further increases were in the pipeline for fans of the Old Trafford club.

But the club has now announced that prices will be kept on hold for the 2010/11 season.

The club said the price of attending a match at Old Trafford for members and season-ticket holders would remain priced from £27 to £49.

And fans aged over 65 will continue to pay half the adult price, capped at £20, with junior tickets staying at £10.
well that's it then. it's all right, everything is all right, the struggle is finished. i have won the victory over myself. i love the glazers!!

nailed on.

otherwise, when they put them up last season it would have had a little extra line saying, although ticket prices are going up this season, they will be frozen at this price for the 2010/2011 season...

G&G is working, but I fear that this takes away the "it's gone up again i'm not renewing" factor, so more will renew than normal...

Fair point I'll be more careful in my terminology next time. But if I may express an opinion I believe previous form would indicate that they were a long way along the road to another increase until the anti-Glazer/Green & Gold campaign started to get national attention. I don't know what they think day to day but the bond prospectus was crowing about raised ticket prices in a difficult climate.

there have been empty seats at OT during the 2nd half of the season

but there were also empty seats during the 1st half of it

they may have hoped to raise prices again, and may privately forecast such a rise. in fact, they almost certainly have looked at such forecasts just as we all have - at a pound a season how much would it cost in 2017 etc

but let's be honest here, the economic climate has hardly been static over the past 12 months. there were changes to the acs last summer iirc. no reason to expect that there won't be changes next summer as well, even if the japanese have vapored us by then
