We should get him over here for negotiations whilst the weather's good. He'll have forgotten how shit it is for the other 360 days of the year.

Perez - "Regarding the figures spoken about Bale, players are neither cheap nor expensive, but an investment. Most expensive players are those that can be classified as an investment because, if they are very good, they produce a return."

Yeah same here. Can see Madrid getting annoyed with it all though, might come to a point where they want to sell him to get extra money for Bale.

Be surprised if either Bale or Ronaldo move this summer though.

Fits the profile of the sort of player the club has traditionally gone big on. Breaking the transfer record to sign the outstanding domestic talent - Law, Robson, Keane, Rio. But I doubt it'll happen with the @#%&!s running the show these days.

I'm unsure of Bale being worth 45m and here it's being touted as 80m. If so, only Madrid can afford him.

How much would Ronaldo cost, though, especially if Madrid are pissed at him breaking off contract negotiations? If they want £60m for him, United would probably rather spend an extra £20m on a guy who is 4/5 years younger. Proper fantasy nonsense this, isn't it?

Suggesting United would rather pay more money is, agreed

Anyone decent in the last year of their contract knocking about btw? Because that's the only hope the club has of signing anyone remotely good enough.

Yeah, but we're going to sell him to make way for some #@&%! from Thornton Heath.

But seriously, Bale should be no1 target, surely?

Bothers me if it means we have nothing spare for midfield.

Bale is younger than Ronaldo, but he doesn't come with the guarantee of a goal a game, and has yet to win anything of note in his career.

IMO Ronaldo will stay in Madrid, and Bale will cost a team much more than he is worth.
