Been the theme for the best part of a decade.

It would have been harsh but I'm convinced if that was Varane or Maguire, the penalty is given against us

The other one was worse when they saved the goal-bound shot with their arms pressed into their midriff.

It was literally a save ffs.

And our man Dermot will be on Sky telling us it’s a nailed on penalty

100% and every pundit asked would agree with it. This is what £#%&!s me off most with VAR tbh.

You surely can’t have an excuse for handball when the balls travelled about 40 yards ffs

Yep - he was completely out of position, panicked and used his hand to stop the ball going to Rashford. It's a penalty having seen it a few times since.

Didn’t Amrabat handle the ball in the area in this game and a penalty wasn’t given?

Never ever a pen that, it travelling the 40 yards is why, he had no idea where the ball was before it hit his arm, he wasn't even facing the play ..

That was a cheat pen as well. So was the one where the player crosses his arms to his chest to block a shot.

The rules are very messed up at the moment. It would be easier to just say it's hand ball is it touches the hand/arm no matter what. At least it's then fair for everyone.

He chose to turn his back to it. He chose to stick his arm out. His actions prevented an obvious goal scoring opportunity. It's a penalty in the new or old rules.

slightly different circumstances.

in one case, a long pass, the defenders turns away and it hits his arm - clearly no intention to handle. in the other, a ball is miscontrolled by the defender and pops up and hits his arm. neither anything like a penalty, but hardly comparable.

amrabat did handle the ball very deliberately twice, though, when he thought (rightly) that he had been fouled.

He has ZERO intention to handle that and his arm isn't in an unnatural position , he is defending his man....

It's never a penalty...

If you’re stupid enough to let the ball hit your arm when it’s travelled forty yards across the pitch then that is a penalty. Anywhere else on the pitch and a free kick is given.

100% a pen. If you choose to stop watching the ball and watch your man instead, then you can’t then complain when the ball hits your arm ffs.
