This, 15 years old, on the top bunk & I was going so mental my dad came in to tell me to shut the hell up. I did not... listening to that again had the hairs up on my neck, school the next day was absolute carnage. Kids being launched over desks - literally everyone was actually kung-fu fighting. Magic.

The kids were kung-fu fighting Magic? Was it anything to do with Panini swaps?

Listening in the living room. Was shocked the highlights came on and no 18 certificate. The chap on the wireless had painted things rather badly. “He’s shot him, now he’s eating his head”.

Get him on the guillotine.

This.

I was living in Sutton, not far from Croydon and there was a real hatred of United at the time.

I was doing my accountancy exams and listening to the game In the 2ns bedroom and I remember freaking out when JP called it.

Seem to recall speaking to Mobboss too about it that night - his first wife was tight with a board member and everyone was trying to find out what was going on.

Same. I was 12. Just a few days after he’s headed that later winner against Blackburn. There isn’t a single doubt in my mind we would have won the league comfortably in 95 had he not been banned.

That and robot wars is my abiding memory of that pompous twerp, Pearce.

I loved that era. We were utterly despised and everything we did felt like a giant £#%&! you to the rest of the footballing world.

I’ve never seen greater levels of high-horse sanctimonious drivel than the days and weeks following that.

And they loved it. They had been DYING for him to do something like that for years.

Of course, with hindsight, it’s viewed very differently. That BBC premier league doc stopped just sort of saying that the racist little fart got what he deserved

That’s a very outdated sentence.

Tom Tyrell was 1152

I was listening to it

“And Eric canona… he’s punched…. He’s kicked a fan…”

You could tell he hadn’t a clue what was going on, halcyon days

Yep. 1152 reds
Tom used to get his hair cut in my barbers. One day I went in when he was waiting for a chop. Had a nice chin wag and I told him I had his United in Europe book. He said if I left it in the shop he would sign it for me next time he was in. He was true to his word. Top red was Tom
Ripip.

I was in the bath listening to 1152.

Always remember the @#%&!s who laid into Eric and have never forgiven them. Esp. Tommy Docherty the £#%&!ing rent-a-quote shithouse.

Crerend defended him

Memory is a funny old thing. Could have sworn I watched it live on tv but must have been on the radio and the highlights on tv
