If our approach to signings over the past few years is anything to go by, we’ll tap up ETH this summer and then spend a year negotiation a contract. Of course, in that time, he’ll probably end up at £#%&!ing Newcastle, just to really rub salt in the wound.

He’s the man I want above any other realistic target. It’s an interesting and exciting appointment…. But I have no faith in the club supporting him and I think the most likely scenario is we’re having the same discussion about the same issues in 2-3 years time.

I’m annoyed because the club is making me unarsed about this.

I am sure he would have asked for assurances on transfers and targets spoken about. If he wasn't confident in getting them, he won't take it...
