It’s not a case of being in a position to do it, it’s a case of we have to do it. If we don’t we’re buying everyone at top end and never have any £#%&!er to sell to generate funds.

Genuinely surprised that we haven’t tried and wasted more time.

Yeah fair point.

But taking punts when you’ve got multiple world class players in most positions is a lot easier.

All true. We need to start somewhere though.

Hannibal - £10m
Pellistri - £7m
Amad - ££#%&! knows

It’s not enough. We have glaring gaps in the whole set up in midfield, but haven’t stuck our necks out and bought a prospect or two, even if it’s to put on loan for the short term.

Would rather we save our money to get some proven quality midfielders in tbh.

The point being we should’ve been doing both.

And we can’t afford/won’t pay for the players we need.

The thing is City won't let taking the odd punt get in the way of properly strengthening their team. We'll take a punt on a couple of squad fillers and they'll be all we get.

The managers aren't going to want to spend tens of millions on punts when they can be sacked during any season they enter.

The focus has been on first team players. A lot of players I'd put into the 'punt' territory since Fergie have been disasters and moved on for a loss.

Two of them are starting as our full backs at the moment. The pair of them cost about 30 million combined.

Said this the other day other than Ronnie who have we ever taken a punt on and sold on for a decent profit? If they come good we keep them if they don’t we keep them but on a bigger longer contract

Giving this lad a swerve is looking a shrewd bit of business.

Scored 6 last night in an 8-1 win in the Copa Libertadores.

City refusing loan offers and will have him and Haaland in the squad next year.
