- that list. Surprised not to see Kompany or Evans on it. RVP should win it by a country mile; expect it to go to Muamba though.

Scott Parker? Decent player but it shows how far the standards have fallen in the Pl when he is the stand out midfielder in the eyes of his fellow players.

De Gea should have been nominated for the young player award, but the media campaign against him, and a few high profile mistakes and it will take a while for him to build his reputation.

Van Persie easily wins this.

And win it. tbf, it should be between him and the Arsenal keeper, they're pretty closely matched. But going by those nominated, Aguero pisses it.

Hart saved cideh 2 points at Villa and 2 at Wigan. He was very good when the team was very good too, but even if he had played shit, they were still free-scoring enough to have dealt with it.

Now the defense has gone to shit, he is not so much struggling, but isn't bailing them out like he did in those two games.

Still deserves to be on there mind.

My shortlist would be Joe Allen, Joe Hart, RVP, Kompany, Krul, Ba, Tony V

YPoY (U21 for me) - Walker, Welbeck, AOC, De Gea

they were all shit at Wigan and Rooney was only on for an hour

yaya toure should be the city nominee imo but van persie deserves it, no question.

They really need to look at their criteria for the young player award though. Players like Aguero who is an experienced international player, 23 years old, has been playing on the world stage for 4-5 years should not be listed. We had Rooney at 24 with 7 years top flight experience being nominated for this award as well, make it breakthrough players or under 21.

Yaya Toure is unfortunate not to be nominated for the main award, well ahead of Aguero in performances and importance.
