I don't think it's got anything to do with fear of united achieving anything - more that they've wanted Ronaldo to be a problem since he walked through the door because it's good for clicks

The press have been having a field day for the last 2 years pretty much printing any old %@#$&!s they fancy because nobody at the club has the balls to pull them up on it any more.
