Even so, There's no way United could find that sort of money up front. We'd either have to pay in £30m instalments over 3 years or offer some sort of player in a swap. I should imagine they'd take one look at our books and demand van persie. Everyone else they wouldn't want to touch.

He'll have 2 years left on his deal in the summer, he'll be 28
and if HE wants a United move then rather than keep a unhappy player they'll have to cash in if he isn't willing to sign a new deal in the summer and risk losing him for £25/£30m the season after.
He's not worth big money anymore, not only because of his age but the fact he's not at that level he was when we sold him.
