England in disarray as the season starts. Fasten your seat belt.

Inzud have had a slew of retirements and some of the other mainstays are getting long in the tooth, while they're not bringing through the same quality in the next generation. Look forward to watching Jamieson again but otherwise I think England might have that one. India should muller them but they always choke in England.

Used to love the cricket years ago, now I'd rather blow my own brains out.

Interesting scenes in the IPL yesterday. Ashwin came in to bat at No 6 and scored 28 off 23 but decided to "retire out" with ten balls of the innings to go. The team were at 135-4. The new batsmen scored 8 off 4 with a big six in there and the guy at the other end in the final over took the team to a score of 165 to defend. Which they did by just three runs.

Retired out is a tactical move, where a batter can’t come back once retired. It is entirely opposite to the retired hurt. When a batter walks back into the dressing room without being adjudged out by the umpire and not being injured, he is referred to as retired out in cricket.
