I know he's previously been priority no.1 for Real & with Benzema it's probably the obvious replacement but relations between PSG & Real were reportedly catastrophically soured when they went through this 2 years ago.

Also, Real have Vini Jr on the left who is their best player, Mbappe wasn't exactly enthused at the possibility of playing as a no.9 for them & made it well known he wanted to play off another forward. Real have also been (somewhat hilariously) been linked with Kai Havertz from Chelsea in this window, heavily linked, so maybe he'd be the forward line water-carrier

It's not as clear cut as it would have been had the whole incident soured relations between the clubs before. Maybe people have moved on, but Mbappe will now surely want to win everything he can - he's already got a World Cup winners medal, a World Cup final hat-trick, he's frankly a ridiculous talent & Real will sell the family silver to get him. 1 year left on his deal, he'll probably go for €100m & make our pursuit of Mount for £70m or whatever look like the joke it is.

If he does end up at Madrid, they'll have an immense team moving forward. A front three of Vini Jnr - Mbappe - Rodrygo... £#%&! me. And that midfield, too. Great in terms of stopping others winning the CL, but not so good for us when we face them.

Madrid really cannot be hammered for profligacy in the market. Not even in the top 20 in the world net spend wise over the past 10 years. Less than Wolves. Very, very savvy customers. Bayern also not super egregious at number ten.
