I don't want him anywhere near that setup

Him and me both.

All of my favourite non-United football memories involve England being painfully eliminated from big competitions.

Portugal '04, Portugal '06, Iceland '16, Croatia '18, Italy '20.

Beer-throwing ABU gimps and face-painted JCL birds all in tears. Drink it in.

Well unless Mainoo goes on to win 8 Balon d'ors, 17 league titles and 8 European cups, all this talk of him being great is going to be pretty embarrassing isn't it? You shouldn't enjoy his talent until he retires imo.

If he can become half as good as Curtis Jones, I’ll be happy

Just watching his season highlights and a clip of him in England training and how on earth does he make so many tackles/interceptions?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player make a challenge look so easy almost every single time. The amount of occasions he comes away with the ball in positions you’d think he’d have no right to do so is pretty incredible.

And if Curtis Jones can become half the player Anthony Le Tallec was that's some gauntlet thrown down.

The lad’s an absolute joke

Playing like this on your full debut for England at 18 years old against a really good international side
Probably the best player on the pitch while he was on

Booked his seat on the plane. Good to see him in a side comfortable in possession.

You genuinely could see him not getting picked and Henderson going though. Classic Emgland.

Mature beyond his years. Alongside good players in Rice and Bellingham and didn’t look at all out of place. Made Onana looks like a tit a couple of times too.

Just a shame he’s not as good as Harvey Elliot
