1994 - 3rd choice behind Hughes and Cantona

1999 - Just scraping in with Cole ahead of Yorke

2012 - Just ahead of Wellbeck in a pairing with RVP

2014 - Forget it

He's had some fantastic seasons early on but his form has drifted so badly that I doubt many on here would want to sign him for more than £10m if he was playing for another club.

just ahead of Welbeck...ffs Welbeck has been shit this season

as for 1999 wrong again....Yorke was the best striker in Europe that season

Rooney can make us all go mental at times but he's without doubt one of Fergie's best ever signings, we would be nowhere near 19 without him

On his day he's a world beater. His days are becoming fewer and further between. Hoping RVP taking some pressure off him goalscoring wise can bring about some sort of resurgence. FWIW I thought against Newcastle he was fantastic in the 'diamond'.

FFS. Look at his goal return every season. Not bad for not a great striker.

Aye you're right I suppose. I just prefer him in midfield. If he could get his eye in there I reckon he'd be unplayable.

Can you name the 9 better than him?

Goater and Dickov don't count now that they have retired

I'd rather play a midfielder in midfield and Rooney as a striker. Mental I know.

Ronaldo
Messi
Villa
Cavani
Falcao
Aguero
Gomez
van Persie

Arguably, Zlatan, Lavezzi & Tevez could be added to that list...

That's not to say that those players would be better for United btw.
