Lot of talk that he'll leave because of Jose. It would also fund a rebuild.

Signing Kane for 200 million is precisely the sort of moronic dick-waving Florentino Pérez would do. City could too when FFP gets relaxed.

It’s weird cos you’d think he’d be Jose’s perfect striker: strong, good in the air, can hold up the ball and act as a target man etc.

Don’t think Kane really plays like that though, or relishes playing like that. He’s a bit more Sheringham in that respect, likes to get on the ball and drop off, get involved in the build up at times. Jose wants a battering ram.

He’s not a bad finisher at all, but he’d get twice the chances with better runs/positioning. He just doesn’t seem to have the nous of a top striker.

Again, it depends what kind of striker you’re expecting. Tends to get 2 or 3 good opportunities per game and is involved in most of the good stuff the team does. Spends a lot of time marshalled by 2 CB’s with little in the way of service or support. Something we’ve got to get better at.

It's balance also, stick someone as dangerous as Rashford on the right (Sancho ) & Martial gets more space, James just isn't a threat right now as a starter. As we saw with Pogba & Bruno on the field we automatically become a side with a lot of options. Martial has had to play up top with very little quality for too long.

Lets hope both Greenwood & Pogba start the next one & we can get some momentum going quickly.

If United get Sancho, Martial will be losing his place to Greenwood within the next 12 months. Maybe sooner.

The fact we went for that Hitler youth freak confirms Martials future is not the #1 striker.

It doesn’t have to be. We need another couple of forwards, regardless, imo. We can’t rely on the same 2 or 3 game in, game out, there have to be options and variety.

If Haaland came in he would the #1 striker playing upfront. Not Martial. Him and Rashford would be on the Wings and occasionally fill in up top (injuries, rest).

Martial will not be our main striker for anymore than one season (if that).

The way he's going he's liable to lose his place, whether to the igloo or young Mason
