Danny Wellbeck

I was watching the Academy highlights from the win over the dirties at weekend, he looks like he's got a chance. 2 excellent goals and a thorn in the defence's side throughout.

I watched that one live on MUTV Saturday just gone, he definatly is showing promise.

In an earlier game this season he bagged a hat-trick against West Brom too.

We drew
He has the touch of a united player, Fergie was saying last season he's a certainity to make it.

Has been doing it for quite some time now

has all the makings to be a quite fantastic player, if he keeps his head down

the brightest local prospect to emerge from the youth setup in quite sometime, i do feel.

Brandy is top notch too, I fear his height will affect his united career too.
Also it's Welbeck

We have some Italian sounding fella up from who has looked half decent when I've seen him too. (his name escapes me).

shame, as he has a tremendous amount of ability.

the acid test will some when gets to about 19ish as lets see if he can overcome the "sugar loungue" birds etc

Hopefully he's a late spurter.
Remember him from a youth tournament a while back where he just took the piss out of everyone. Barca and Real Madrid wanted him.

and, tbh, he doesn't seem to have grown much over the last few years.

needs a bit more physical strength if he were to survive at United.The strength he could work on, but he ain't going to get much taller than he already is.

shame, as i think that's what will £#%&! his chances.

Maybe, I was still quite small when I was 18 and now i'm 6 foot 2.
He played against Hyypia earlier on this season and ripped him apart, he had to resort to fouling him.

Has played very well in recent games.

A great bite about him, loves to get stuck in, and gets around the pitch well.

not sure if he looks like one to make the grade, though

it's incredibly hard to tell with some players, But wellbeck certainly looks the most promising I've seen in quite sometime.

Drinkwater, Like Carrick has said, looks another who has great potential.

Welbeck is the best young prospect to emerge for years....he really looks like he has a chance, quality player and trfemendous skill and confidence for his age

A few years ago I said on another forum not too far away that Drinkwater will be one of the only players to emerge from the squad with a genuine chance to be top quality - i'm a modern day visionary

Don't think Wellbeck will make it then?

Last year, in the run up to the youth-cup final, I seem to recall Fergie suggesting they were an excellent side, but one player, above all, stood out.

I believe it was Wellbeck.
