Where will the goals come from?
Looking at this season, Rashford doing well, Bruno the only other player in double figures (all comps).
League goals: Rashford 16 Bruno 6 Sancho 5 Antony 4 Martial 4 Fred 2 Garnacho 2 Casemiro 2 Terrible level of firepower. Struggling to see success with this lot if things don't change. |

His Ajax side wracked up 120 league goals in a season. So, clearly, he knows how to set up an attacking team.
That said, barring any ridiculous feats through the final games, our Goals Scored this season would typically place a team 7th/8th (the Leeds / Leicester sides that came there in the past 2 seasons both wracked up c. 15 more goals than we've got currently). To state the obvious, a lot riding on central striker recruitment; need another wide player then to replace Sancho + Elanga and actually contribute goals. |

Needs another couple of athletic midfielders that can break forward and create, solidify the middle, win the ball back quicker and keep possession and allow us to build pressure, move the ball quicker and take more risks going forward without being terrified we’re wide open. Then stick a couple of forwards desperate to score in the mix and it improves no end.
Needs to work on the patterns when attacking though. A good pre-season and a schedule that’s not bordering on criminal should help there though. |

It doesn’t worry me because we’re still relatively early on in this process. Our attacking options are Rashford, Antony, Martial, Garnacho, Sancho and Weghorst. He’s signed two of those. One is a stop gap who is leaving. One has been transformed into a 30 goal striker and one is a 20 year old kid who has progressed far more than most expected in 12 months. Every man and his dog knows we’re getting a number 9 this season. That alone will take us up another notch. It’s not just the forwards either. Martinez, Casemiro and Eriksen bring so much more to our attacking play contrasted with the usual shit@#%&!s who are rubbish on the ball. He’s still ‘making do’ with a lot of players. Fundamentally, this isn’t yet his team. I’d be more concerned if we’re seeing the same issues in 12 months. We clearly don’t score enough for where we want to be, but it should be just enough for this season to get top four, a trophy and meet an objective that none of expected to at the start of the season. |

A top forward, midfielder and a new keeper at £75-100m a pop is what new owners should be all over. |

How much do you reckon we're going to have to shell out to replace the absolute dross we've allowed to accumulate over the course of a decade in order to get anywhere near challenging them? |
