It’s a sad state of affairs still not worked out what he did to deserve being cast aside when Young returned tbh.

He rarely goes beyond or overlaps - I wonder if there is a psyc element to that with him given how he got the injury - maybe happier to sit back which you can't do at the top level or even our current level

Managers have players they trust (Matic) and players they just don't see eye to eye with (Shaw)

It's not for a lack of ability, but if the kid is unable to follow through with anything the manager actually wants him to do, then it seems like a pointless venture.

For his own sake, he might aswell go to a manager and club that likes him.

He's 22. We've seen glimpses of talent, but in a couple of years at Southampton and four years here, that's all his career equates to at this point.

He needs a move because he won't be a success as long as Jose is here.

If this was just Jose I’d be unhappy the fact him Louis and the England manager have all called him out says a lot cut the losses with him absolutely no point in keeping him

Not really. Mourinho already had a winning team and top quality players in their positions. It would be like dropping Denis Irwin to bring phil Neville through. Sometimes a young player just has to move on because their path is blocked.

In a nutshell.

Reluctant to push forwards and overlap yesterday, frustrating as £#%&! and was rightly hooked at HT.

Mourinho also said Valencia was guilty of the same, but can actually defend.

Which is even worse for the lad.

Yeah, you're probably right. I can't help but think though that when a player is coming back from a double leg break like Shaw that they perhaps need support and a confidence boosting attitide from the manager not criticism.

One of those players who will only deliver on his potential once he leaves.

Which he should.
