Default Friday Night Football : Forest v Spurs

It should be a decent game. Two wide-open sides.

Was just thinking today about ex-forest player, Jesse Lingard. Still unemployed. United destroyed him. There's something very wrong when a decently talented international footballer basically gives up football completely. And he's not the only one who had their love of the game completely destroyed by being at United.

Don’t agree that Utd destroyed Lingard

He was given ample opportunities to curb his £#%&!ing idiotic behaviour and knuckle down, but he chose to play the @#%&!

Sure the club have treated some players appallingly, but not this man child

It's more he was institutionalised. Not treated badly. Probably treated too well if anything. Look at Jones. Now Sancho. Lot of other examples.

Overpaid at United, like no other club. Pampered and cosseted as players, as befitting the world’s biggest club, without the requirement, expectation or personal desire to play at such a level.

There isn't a club in world football willing or able to sign our former number 1 who won player of the year most years, something is clearly wrong at the club

Can you expand on why it's United's fault at all?

I didn't say it was their fault

We’re not cursed. It’s just that, every time a manager builds a decent platform and needs good investment to really take us forward, the glazers don’t back him and we fall away.

We need to return to being a football club, rather than a family dividend reward scheme.

Absolutely this. Armers says Lingard (among others) was institutionalised, which is true but it is not just the players that came through the system. We provide the same benevolent service for players who’ve run their course at other clubs and pay them top whack to please themselves when they deem themselves fit enough to turn up, train or God forbid, even play. Part of the problem when you have distant, disinterested owners. The manager struggles to exercise discipline and has no backup from above. Every manager since Ferguson has suffered because of it.

Having Martial and Jones hanging around for years sends a message to all the players about what Manchester United is about.

Not to mention allowing players to run the dressing room to the extent they have. The Matic thing recently

We barely scratch the surface of how badly run we are. LVG and ole in recent times have had a couple interviews on how bad of a state it’s in but there will be a tonne more we don’t know about.
