Tottenham Hotspur vs Man United: Official Matchday Thread - 30/10/2021 @ 5.30pm
[SIZE="4"]Man United - Last 5 Premier League Games [SIZE="4"]Spurs - Last 5 Premier League Games [SIZE="4"]Team News: Man United: Pogba out serving the first game of a three match ban. Varane & Martial pushing to be fit. Spurs: Byron Gil couldn’t finish their game midweek with a hamstring issue which makes him a big doubt, and Ryan Sessegnon will not feature. Previous Fixture: We last met Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the 11th April 2021, in what turned out to be Mourinho's last home game in charge of his Tottenham side. After a slow start to the game, a nice Man United move started by Scott The Scottish Player and finished by Cavani looked to put us in front 36 minutes in. However the goal was then disallowed upon review after it came to light The Scottish Player had viciously assaulted Son in the build up to the goal by gently brushing him in the face while Son was attempting to swap shirts with The Scottish Player54 minutes too early. Salt was then rubbed into the wound when only 5 minutes later Son put Tottenham into the lead. Typical of this United side going into the half time break behind, we found a way to fight back in the second half. 57 minutes into the game Spurs and Mourinho suffered the most embarrassing of scenarios, a Fred goal. It came after another slick Man United move which Fred was heavily involved in, before getting the opportunity to slide the ball into an empty net after Cavani's effort was saved. Thankfully, despite Freds best efforts, he was only 6 yards away from goal and his attempt to smash the ball clear over the bar failed and he hit the roof of the net instead to level the game. United then found themselves leading in the game on the 79th minute after Fernandes laid the ball off to Greenwood with a cheeky nutmeg, who then played a wonderful ball into the path of Cavani's wonderful bonce, allowing him to put us into the lead with a lovely diving header. We then sealed the deal late into stoppage time after catching Spurs on the break and finding Greenwood on the edge of the area, who lashed the ball into the net to put the result beyond doubt. Haha, £#%&! off Mourinho. Match Tit Bits Spurs have lost more games against us than any other team in the Premier League era After going 6 games without a win away at Spurs in the league, we have gone on to win two of their last three. Only one of the last 6 league games between the two sides have been won by the home team (us at home in December 2019) We have lost three of the last four Premier League games (drawing the other), that's as many as in the previous 37 games before this unbelievably shit run started. The last time we lost three games on the bounce was under LVG in December 2015 The last time we lost two away games on the bounce, we went on to set the record for most unbeaten games away in the league. Match Prediction: Lads, it's Tottenham. |
