He’s a good player, but I’ve never watched him thought he stood out. If he wasn’t English, nobody would know who he is.

Pass.

Sad to see people writing off the next Carrick.

All for the bargain price of ~£125m

I’m all for getting what you pay for, at least it’s not the ~£125m we spent on Slab & AWB

What’s Rice’s contract situation? Unless he has a year left & only wants to join us it’s an utterly pointless endeavour & simply not required right now compared to a striker or two.

Not a great jump on Fredmctom. the likes of Casa are a world apart. If he was homegrown I'd be probably shouting him up, but buying him in for a fortune, not a chance and not what united need atm.

Send Maguire their way and we’d be able to get him for 40-50m

It’s unfair on Casemiro to rely solely on him and the baton will need to be passed eventually - Rice will only get better and better. No chance we get him in Jan anyway but next summer is doable.

A centre forward remains our priority singing, but if we got one in and then got Rice we’d be laughing.

Want it to happen even more now so when he’s bossing the midfield for us I can bump this thread with a multi quote of the posts saying he’s of a similar quality to The Scottish Player. How we would all laugh.

West Ham could never afford Slab’s wages so we’re stuck with him unless Newcastle come knocking & Howe isn’t that stupid.

God I hate him so much. I didn’t think of the wages.

Still, Rice will only have a year left on his contract next summer so if he doesn’t renew in the meantime then that leaves us in a much stronger position to negotiate. No way will he be £100m+

Bring him home.

One year on his deal does make a lot of sense tbf, if he digs his heels in & says he only wants a Utd move it could work out. Real Madrid style @#%&!ishness required. I wouldn’t be averse at all but absolutely not at the £80m-£100m mentioned. £50m? Still feels punchy… who’s moved recently with a year left we can compare?

I rate him but if I had one criticism it would be that he often plays well within himself. He should be bossing games but he sits and holds instead of being more proactive. He's well capable of doing it all.
