Aye, what's the point in appointed Gerrard as captain if "Jay Tee" is going to continue to take press conferences as self-appointed "leader" of the players? They might as well give the armband back to him. I wonder how Rio would have reacted to Terry's little press conference, or whether he even would have let him do it in the first place?

I wondered that myself, no way he would have stood for it. Rooney would have had more of an ally too.
Gerrard is obviously the tough guy when it comes to bottling pissed up dj's backed up by all his mates. When he's go to stand up to, and in front of, his peers though he's found wanting.

Can't be arsed trawling through the threads, but was it noticed on here that Terry was practically holding Gerrards hand when the team ran out on to the pitch the other night ? Like there was two captains or something (had no internet so titanic me all you like).

Make Wazza captain for the last game I say.

It's helped in a way though, it's let Capello assert his authority publicly and he looked pretty £#%&!ing cool then.
