Bale is just sky sports hype, this dude hasn't even taken Spurs above pitiful Arsenal despite having a better squad. He scores a couple of screamers against bloody southampton and sunderland and people cream their pants. 5th place ffs.

Thread off to a bad start. If we were concerned about the money we should've done more about it 8 years ago..

..however, being "budget aware" means you're being realistic. If we shell out £50m plus on Bale, the likelihood is that we'll have chuff all else to spend.

Well, I can't see us buying them both and, for my money, Bale is the better option in terms of longevity etc. (Is how I read it.)

I honestly can't see us signing Bale though, not if the big guns of Spain come calling. I can, however, see Ronaldo coming back to Old Trafford... all the signs appear to be there. If you believe what you read, that is.

The age thing with Ronaldo doesn't mean anything IMO.

Has he ever been injury prone? He looks after himself so could probably play at the top level well into his 30s, remaining world-class.

He can also play in so many positions. I can see him being a centre-forward in his later years, still banging 30-40 goals a season. Compare him to Rooney who is a year younger. :shakehead:
