Why would the club not pay an extra few million for Perisic in the summer of 2017 but then allow Mou to sign Sánchez (who was older than what Perisic would have been in 2017) on astronomical wages?

He was obviously a club signing that Mou was happy to go along with.

When Inter wanted £40+m for Perisic it was pre-Neymar wasn’t it? Before fees went utterly £#%&!ing mental and it was a ridiculous price at the time. Plus they always maintained they didn’t want to sell, maybe they didn’t. £#%&!ing good job tbh, or he’d be another one we’d have to bomb out and replace about now.

Last line is %@#$&!s tbh. Other way round for me. 100% Mou signing that the club thought they’d benefit from commercially.
