Default Dalglish to Souness

Liverpool's dominance of English football was ended by Sir Alex Ferguson, but he was given a helping hand by Liverpools actions in the late 80's to early 90's.

Dawned on me tonight watching that disgrace of a performance the similarities between us now and them then.

They had a Scottish legend as manager, we had a Scottish legend as manager. Daglish, like Fergies last few seasons, allowed the Liverpool squad to stagnate. They then handed over to a seemingly chosen replacement, another Scotsman in Souness. We handed over to a chosen one, a Scotsman. Souness then set about changing Liverpools style, bringing in less than average players like Itzvan Pozma and Torben Piecnek. Moyes has dragged every bit of style out of United and brought in the less than average Fellaini.

20 years later Liverpool are just starting to recover from the train wreck that was Souness. So lads we can look forward to some promising times by about 2034, unless the club acts swiftly and stops the rot

At least Souness had the right idea - that Liverpool needed a major culture change to stay at the top. He was just, happily for us, totally maladroit at how he went about it. Motes :shakehead:

Moyes has added mata, Fellaini and J@&%!aj yet we're not half the team of last year.

Liverpool were still on auto-pilot under Dlaglish from the bootroom days. He got out when the writing appeared on the wall and Souness copped the flak. His Sun column helped of course.

Our dominance days were numbered when two clubs became mega rich and we obtained mega debt. Simples.

the problem with giving their job to Souness was that he was a shite manager that the players hated...Exactly the same as Moyes
People have read too much into following Fergus as being the impossible job, that is complete bull.Any decent manager would have taken that squad and moved it forward, instead we have regressed 30 years in 6 months..Unless we learn from the scouse mistake and bin this clown it will be another 30 years to recover

agree re: souness effect.
it's not just the short term damage this #@&%! is doing.

and it's not just him to be fair. I wouldn't be surprised if and when he goes, that he is replaced by another shit, conservative minded choice based on his nationality and links to ferguson.
