In an ideal world, despite his stupid wages, he stays, turns into a player and we actually have a use for him. On his day, we know he is a top player. Sadly, he hasn't been that for a couple of years now.

PR -A lex is committed to the club

Reality - Couldn't find anyone to foot his wages

Must be because no £#%&!er is willing take him on loan and pay anywhere near to what we're paying him. Roma were one of the clubs interested, but their top earner is probably on about £150k pw, like £#%&! they're willing to pay anywhere half of what that £#%&!er is earning.

The only hope is that he can play some part this season. Dump him on the pitch for the League Cup and Europa League. Although seeing him get outplayed by youth players probably won't help us get rid of him.

Take Ole's point that we're light up front though.

He can play down the middle if necessary.

If only he could

I'm not one to @#%&! off the team and players but I have no faith in this @#%&! performing anywhere apart from in a Chile shirt

Gary Birtles was a bargain compared to this waster

His better games for us have been when he has been more central.

Even if a club will only pay £150k a week towards his wages, it still gets rid of a problem player and we're saving money in doing so. It seems silly not to send him out and have a break clause in January should he perform well and other clubs become interested.

It's impossible to imagine someone wont pay him £150k a week.

As already mentioned, he played there pre-season last year. He looked ok.

Note: I said better games, not good!

If he comes good, then it benefits us.

If he doesn't, then nothing changes.

Not really arsed.

I've completely written him off as anything other than redundant and I frequently forget he plays for us.

His demise reminds me of Rooney. He looks physically shot and hasn't come to terms with the fact that he has.

Stick him on the wing and he still tries tricks and turns that his body won't allow him to do.

However, his instincts are still there. His best (only) good moments last year were his goal against Newcastle and away at Arsenal. Two well taken goals that relied a little more on instinctive finishing.

If (big if) he has any value to us, it's probably centrally.

He’s been nowhere near as shit as has been made out. Should get a chance when fit.

He runs around like a headless chicken and falls over the ball like a Jack Russell.

Well worth the £500k-per-week.

Think he might be useful when we play at home against teams who sit very deep- he's a different option.
