Take Lingard out and put a player like neves in behind Pogba and The Scottish Player and we’d be a much better balanced side imo.

there's nothing wrong with having two designated takers if they are both good. pogba keeps missing, though.

his run to draw the foul was superb, though. that's what we want him doing.

Yup, Jason Park, Phil Neville type player. Would be happy if he was as good as Fletcher, but he's not

Name 5 games where he's controlled the game with the ball at feet rather than just be a busy bee. Nothing wrong with being that but he's a midfielder whose best qualities are intangibles.

Every squad needs those players. Fletcher was outstanding for a short period pre-illness too since he elevated his game adding some attacking use too. Not ruling The Scottish Player out, that's a great example to follow.

We need to show some patience here lads. We are trying to shift more than a whole team of wasters that we've accumulated over 10 years while rebuilding on a finite budget and phasing in players from the academy.

Agree with Neville who post match said he likes the team now and the way they're trying to play but it's an 18 month to 2 year journey back to the top.

That’s not what you said though is it?

You said bring the ball down and look to play, which he does do regularly. Actually did it tonight when taking the ball from De gea when under pressure.

He’s more than just a busy bee or a Phill Jones () under Fergie, but playing deeper midfield as part of a two isn’t his or Pogba’s best positions.

Good post.
Jesus £#%&!ing christ i'm talking about getting the ball and trying to do something beyond the most basic "get it and give it to the nearest guy". Doesn't have to always be raking passes but try carry it forward a bit into the opposition half, a few riskier passes. forward passes. He is fine in games where we need the body to break up play and possession is going to be close to 50-50 but he needs to add something else to his game on the ball. Against Palace at home this weekend I'd put in another attacking minded player since we'll have much more possession.

i think we'll comfortably qualify for the champions league. should've won that but we would've lost it in the past.

this is all true.

but we still should have won that game. it's disappointing to have dominated so much and not be 3-0 up at half-time.

chelsea probably felt the same last week.

Nothing encapsulates the slide into mediocrity at United more than the continual presence of wasters like Lingard at the club playing key attacking positions.

Wolves are going to be one of those teams, Like Middlesbrough, that are just a constant pain in our arse.

Hopefully when we've got our act together one of these years we'll pummel them like we did to Middlesbrough in 2008 with Rooney and Tevez.

Good first half. Wolves obviously targeted Shaw at the start of the second half and it worked That left side is going to hurt us this season.

Thought James was okay. The tactic to stretch wolves worked for most of game. Rashford and Martial just okay, but hopefully the partnership will get better.

Pogba's penalty miss wasn't great but way more annoying was that free kick from Rashford. Can we get a captain in the team who is prepared to say "walk away Marcus, we got this"?

Lingard shouldn't be anywhere near that team. Mata even more so. Have no idea what either of them do beyond Lingard's running around a lot.

Wow.

When we beat you in the league in 2004 we were, undoubtedly, despicable game raising @#%&!s. Bottom of the league, relegated out of sight and we won at home against a far, far superior side to your current one.

But now? We finished one place below you in the league and for the first time since I've been alive on this planet there are a couple of players in the Utd team who genuinely wouldn't get in to ours.

Utd still way ahead of Wolves - as they should be - but if we lose to Burnley (we may well do that) it won't be because we raised our game last night. We were actually pretty lacklustre all things considered.

For the first time since Fergie went though you can see Utd are only a few players short of being back in business. Maguire is very obviously a Utd player, Wan Bisaka is granite and Martial/Rashford are clearly going to rinse a lot of defences - much, much harder to play against that a side with Lukaku as a focal point.

But on penalties, man. Your manager has got to take that one on the chin.

Two weeks ago in Europe, we were 2-0 up against some Armenian outfit. Cutrone made his debut as a sub, came on and won a penalty with all his own work. Got very Italian about it all and pleaded with Neves to let him take it so he could open his account. Neves handed him the ball and Nuno went MENTAL on the touchline and demanded it be given back to Neves.

Rashford takes that penalty, you win the game. Simple as that. We all know it.

Post.

Always had a soft spot for Wolves living there for two years. Glad to see them doing well but not at our expense.
