Shaw was the most expensive teenager in football when we signed him. He turned down Mourinho's Chelsea and Mourinho started talking of him in a negative light from then. The guy clearly has a grudge.

A lot of top players are thick. Rooney can't string a sentence without "y'know" and "ermmm". Shaw's not a top player and he may never be but that's in large part because of that horrific injury. He might not have the speed anymore to be rampaging down the wing. But it's only been one game. And we won 4-0 so if this was him playing shit how good will we be if starts looking the part.

Rooney might be a 'thick scouser', but he certainly isn't thick when it comes to his football brain. That's part of the reason he was a fantastic footballer when he was pretty much a child and Fergie could trust him in numerous different roles in Europe when he was a kid.

wouldnt call him thick.

he may not be comfortable in front of the camera or the press but doesn't make him thick.

I hate to quote the Daily Mail ever... but.

Wayne Rooney doesn't have the look of a man who could unscramble quadratic equations - but he might be far cleverer than people realise.

A new study has found that footballers score higher than normal people on 'cognitive function' - brainpower - tests.

The difference in mental horsepower also seems to be directly related to their abilities on the field.

Players in higher divisions score higher on the same tests than ones in lower divisions.

I'm sure I remember one of Rooney's schoolteachers saying he was actually quite bright, but only ever interested in football from the start.
