Happy with Maguire, but nice to have some personalities again that you actually respect as captain.

Far cry from Valencia with Young as back up

Ole is turning this shit around

Imagine the mayhem on this forum if Fernandes had gone to Spurs and was playing like this.

He’s been exemplary, hindered by injuries March ‘19 until now, really, understaffed in attack, a squad full of sullen millionaires and journeymen, barely a leader at the club... now look. All it took was patience and trust in the man long may he continue to improve us

He makes his mistakes and he's learning the job, but I think he knows what he wants more than he's given credit for and this is the best I've felt about any united manager, this far into their tenure, since Fergie left.

Jose wouldn't sign him. He's too adventurous on the ball.

It was well close apparently, but Levy started haggling at the 11th hour. Lol. Cheers Dan...he’s on a good decision making run.

Remember when we lost to Burnley at home and all seemed totally lost for him and United? It was *this year*.

The team becoming exponentially quicker, more creative and dominating going forward meaning we have less defending to do shocker. Ole's blueprint was clear to see but he just needed certain upgrades to execute it better. The end result is a harmonious United that wins the ball high up the pitch and keeps the opposition back. Compare it to Mourinho coming to places like Brighton and making the team sit back and invite pressure from them while our forwards barely got a kick.

he's employing a philosophy and building foundations, like van gaal should have done

he's restoring the old school, winning united mentality, like jose should have done

he's showing that nepotism isn't always a bad thing, like moyes should have done

we've had some very frustrating spells under ole, for sure, but out of the four managers we've had since fergie, he's shown the most clear understanding of what manchester united are about. the level of positivity around the club right now is something i haven't seen for quite some time.

he gets us, la.

I don't think anything encapsulated our fall from grace quite like our spineless surrenders at Huddersfield and then Brighton. Two teams that were light years away from our quality, but turned us over through basically outworking us and getting stuck into us.

It's one thing to go to these places and suffer a shock result but to go to these places season after season and implode pointed to something seriously wrong with the mentality of the team.

There's promising signs, for sure. This team does seem a world away from the one that lost 5 out of the last 10 league games last season. We'll see what happens when they lose a game, whether they just spiral again or are able to brush it off.

Huddersfield was ridiculous though - they treated it as the CL and WC finals combined. Our repeated surrenders at Brighton were much worse.

trossard was unlucky a couple of times (just past the post) and de gea made a couple of excellent saves. doesn't make up for spurs, but....

To put that in perspective, Huddersfield won 7 games all season. 6 of which were at home. None of which were against any side in the top 10 aside from us.

I remember when we used to expect to beat the leagues cannon fodder by 3 goals.

Lads, it's Brighton.
