Why would we want a 'proper holding midfielder'?

Wrong place, wrong time.

I'm getting £#%&!ed off with people quoting prices for players as though they are facts.

Oh, and the missus has got the mumps, so I'm just in a bad mood.

Marcos Senna would cost £2.5m and Benzema £31.28m.

I'd read it wrong anyway so I was way way out.....I'll blame it on age

I never get too uptight about the price of players, ever since I threw a wobbler over what we paid for Yorkie & its not my money they are spending anyway

I remember when I didn't think Zidane was a massive bag of shit.

He has defensive capabilities but is far too skilful to be stuck in the engine room IMO, has the ability to link midfield with attack to great effect.

I don't believe he has the engine to be box to box. Would be perfect for a midfield trio though, if we play him slightly ahead of Carrick while Fletcher/Hargreaves is the defensive insurance.

Basing this on what ive seen on him from Porto, which I must admit hasnt been a lot lately as Setanta dont show Portuguese football anymore. How was he used in River Plate?

I don't disagree with what you're saying. He's got the tools to be more of an attacking threat. But he seems to be more comfortable playing deeper. At River he often played deeper than Mascherano, but scored a fair few more goals than Mascherano, quite a few from long range shooting.

Yep, 'cos that's definitely the ONLY players United are looking at.

Stop being a drama queen.

I think United will sign a big player plus 2-3 good players.

I don't think they are and I'm not, I was responding to what the man had posted as our 'targets'.

I think we'll end up with a player or 2 that are so far off the radar they haven't even been mentioned in passing. At least that's what I hope.
