Red face Robin van Persie

The Sun must be really struggling for ideas as they claim we are monitoring the situation as he only has one more year left at Arsenal and has said he wants to "win things".

Wouldn't be a bad move imo. Arshavin aside, the one player I wouldn't mind haviing from Arsenal. Terrific left foot.

Which is for European transfers.

Seeming as this directly involves us, and there are threads for Ribery and Villa, I thought it warranted one.

England is in Europe.

As for Van Persie, good player but to injury prone. I reckon if he stayed fit he'd score 20 + a season.

Exactly... I wanted to start a thread because I'd heard a snifter that Arkwright P may be moving from Blythe Spartans to Ackrington Stanley, but when I get more concrete info it'll go in the European Transfers thread where it belongs.

Doubt anyone would care about that news tbh.

just when im losing faith is saf's transfer market ability he pulls the rabbit out the hat.

ive always been a fan of his.
rvp is a brilliant striker. a player capable of the spectacular and can operate as the front man.
him and rooney would be a brilliant partnership.
how many league goals did he score this season????

he would be a perfect striker for us to buy and is the right age.

Most overrated player in the league bar none.

Glimpses of genius - lots of anonymity.

Do you ever know hes on the pitch against us? Usually not.

Agreed. Wouldn't kick up a fuss about being on the bench either.

Same could be said about most of the Arsenal team though, tbf.

Exactly - he sums them up.

Id sooner take Fabregas or Adebayor off them than him.

Adebayor over RVP?

Sorry mate but that is %@#$&!s.

He is a fantastic player. He'd thrive off playing for United, he can score any type of goal. I actually think a signing like this of a player that nobody has mentioned is more likely than all the usual names being mentioned.

Good player, be very happy were we to sign him, can't see it though and is still not the type of striker we are lacking.

I don't think he would come to OT and I reckon Arsenal would let him rot for a year before they sell to us.

Arsenal would sell any player to us if the price is right. Wenger has always said he doesn't mind selling to rivals if the price is right. And I also think Van Persie would join us.

Why wouldn't he come here?

As for Arsenal, can't see why they wouldn't sell him to us. We aren't really a rival to them anymore, let's be honest, and Arsene-Fergie seem to have developed a good relationship over the past year or so.
