We've already got two fast tall black guys who are better playing off the left but can play as a number 9.

We didn't really need a third. We need a number 9.

Not difficult, is it?

But the meeja said…

Calm down lads. Woodward has gone.

Not even loans are affordable: £16m for Felix, fee and wages, considered too much.

It’s not that complicated - the glazers are hoping to sell which is the biggest positive anyone could wish for but they’re unlikely to sanction anymore spending. That means we are massively short up top and I reckon that threatens top 4 making Haggers job harder next season when we hopefully have better owners.

Arsenal and city are top 4 certs leaving us, Liverpool, Newcastle and spurs. I can see Newcastle securing a spot and I fear the scousers will improve between now and the end of the season.

We’re a very low scoring side. We desperately need a striker and we’re probably not getting one. It’s not hysteria - it’s just where we are at.

Precisely. The gimps have run the well dry.

You'd get outline planning permission though...

It’s also a frustration that our most bitter rivals are adding quality to their squads when our needs up top are more acute. We have our most talented striker out of football for good on a rape charge and another one that’s £#%&!ed off because he refused to play for the club anymore. we’re now reliant on a player who’s always injured and failed to secure a permanent move away following a loans spell abroad, a lad who’s absolutely £#%&!ing shite and a player who has thankfully rediscovered his form after a dreadful spell that lasted 18 months plus.

Oh, and our owners are currently looking to sell the club and are unlikely to want to invest significantly whilst that’s ongoing. Oh, and we do need to secure top 4 and Liverpool are 4 points behind us in 6th spot.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to express some frustration in these circumstances on a united football forum.

Everyone on here is delighted with ten Hag and most are hugely impressed with our summer business. It’s not shit the bed time but it’s not that crazy to express a bit of frustration given how desperate we are. Not sure why it’s generated so much animosity?
The UK media saying we were in for him makes it a fair assumption that we were in for him? Give over. . The simplest assumption to make is that we were not in for him (ETH has said as much) and Liverpool were. That's it.

I didn't get pissed off that City signed Haaland or Liverpool signed Nunez because there was no chance of either coming to United. Hardly going to start now because they've signed some promising young dutch lad who plays in a position we are well stocked.

Plus it's not about the frustration. It's about the constant, relentless doom - even around things that don't impact the club. We had months of it in the summer - whining post after whining post making the same boring points (or "conversations" as Dr Strange calls it), only to be proven wrong by the end of the window. Looks like we can expect at least another month of it in 2023.

Question

Has anyone mentioned that we a number 9 rather than another wide forward yet?

That's a joke of a deal tbh for 6 months. Has Chelsea written all over it.

That’s great pal. It’s subjective. I was a bit pissed off about Haaland because it simply means city will dominate. You’re not bothered because we were never in for him. You’re not bothered about Liverpool strengthening and possibly finishing above us. You’re not arsed about our inability to act at this moment in time. I am. That’s all.

It’s a forum and unless I’m mistaken, people are allowed different opinions and will inevitably feel different things. I didn’t think what was said was remotely controversial - you disagree. Fine. Good day sir.

Wouldn’t disagree tbf; no buy option included either. £8m fee, £8m wages, and not what we need.

Yes, they’re conversations. They might have some frustration in them, but they’re people talking about the subject matter and exchanging views. Then you and the rest of the snidey bores chime in with the same posts that amount to little more than “stop moaning and shut up”

The moaning about moaning is far more tedious because it’s literally the same regardless of the subject matter.

Oh here we go
Piss the bed
I pity their wives

Etc etc

Rarely, if ever, actually discussing the subject.

It’s ironic that the complaint is about moaning people being the same, when all the responses are the same and just keep killing the conversation.

Nobody discussing the points. Just calling people for being negative.

‘Proven wrong’ is a stretch too. About what? Signing five players doesn’t make any concerns about the state of how we run business ‘prove’ anything wrong.

We’ve been a shambles for years. Forgive people who might be concerned when they suspect it might be happening.

ETH hasn’t said we aren’t in for Gakpo either. He’s refused to be drawn on it. That’s the second time you’ve just made something up this morning.

Surprised more people don’t use the ignore function on here. Seems every post seems to irk them, bore them or both. Maybe utilise it and let the people who want to talk about Cody Gakpo just get on with it.
