Thumbs up Scholes

Made his debut 24 tears ago today. Best player of his generation.

One of the earliest memories of him I have is a goal he scored at the bridge. 22 passes or something leading up to it. Probs 95/96.

Perfect midfielder imo.

Favourite player. No flashy shit off the pitch.

Proper midfielder

Loved the lad as a player. Commitment & ability in the one player. Would love a midfielder like that today. Could see it hurt him praising Pogba the other day.
Should have stayed away from the media side though. Miserable £#%&!er , sounds like Eeyore .
Still, rather listen to his voice on BT to those scouse spanners Owen & McManaman

And that's nothing compared to how the national setup treated him

I remember watching a few of the kids playing against Bury at Gigg Lane in a pre-season friendly in the summer of '94.

I didn't rate any of them.

Best I've ever played against and there can be no greater accolade then that for the Ginger Prince.

I expect my comment will now be added to all those quotes about him from the likes of Zidane and Xavi

Iirc all the ‘92 kids were playing bar Giggs and they honestly didn’t look anything special. To be fair to them they were youngsters playing against men in a meaningless pre-season friendly.

The bullshit we copped from the media, playing the kids

Disrespecting the trophy/opposition/competition. Rotation. They were all doing it the following season.

Anything that upsets the ABU's & those clowns in the press/media that that, cow-tow to them, is fine by me & if i remember correctly they were even discussing this particular team selection from, Fergie, in the house of commens

Love Scholesy. Leaving aside the on pitch achievements which speak for themselves.

He was allways happy to sign an autograph for the mid 90’s Alkrington massive. I still reckon that me having Christmas Dinner ‘95 next to his family at the Wilton Arms the day after we got beat by Leeds changed our season.

Finally, the summer of the treble - regularly popping into the Downs shops every Sunday for bacon. A £#%&!ing European cup winner shooting the shit with all manner of pissheads, smack heads and scrotes in a council estate precinct in Midd.

Gawd bless ‘im.

Think we lost, though. 3-2.
