Anthony Martial’s agent slams “disrespectful” Manchester United shirt decision

Speaking exclusively to our colleagues at RMC, Anthony Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley commented on Manchester United’s decision to strip the French international of the #9 shirt upon the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“I am not going to lie to you. Yes, it affected him. Yes, it surprised him. Yes, he was disappointed… for two days. But he is a professional. He knew to immediately get back to business. Personally, I did not accept this decision which I find misplaced and disrespectful vis-à-vis my player. This feeling, I made clear to the people at Manchester United. You simply do not do that. So we accept it, we turn the page, but are not broken up by it.”

Anthony Martial “very happy” at Manchester United – agent

Manchester United’s French attacker Anthony Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley spoke to RMC this evening to discuss his client’s current situation with the Red Devils.

“He is very happy over there. People are trying to make him out to be unhappy because he is not smiling the whole time. It is part of personality. The people who know him well, know that he is a smiley boy, warm and approachable. He is incredibly attached to the fans, who have really welcomed him well. He is very attached to the club and his teammates. He has one desire: to have a great season and to win titles with United. Let him work, let this 20 year old youngster enjoy himself doing what he loves. What he has accomplished already is incredible. He has his entire career ahead of him. And I can promise you that the best is yet to come.”

Very reasonable, it was disrespectful to not even ask or notify him, it's fair that his agent let that be known so the club don't £#%&! up again.

"Phillipe, Jose here. Just giving you a heads up, we're redecorating the changing rooms and wanted to make sure you were ok with it?"

And then goes on to say how quickly it was all forgotten. But hey, let's not let that get in the way of slating mourinho over more trite £#%&!ing nonsense.

Ooh, he's not smiling enough. Beckenbauer has said he should be nicer to Schweinstiger. He's ordered takeaway from his hotel, the monster.

Just £#%&! off.

Plenty of actual football issues going on without this relentless stream of trivial, Loose Women-style guff.

Cheers for sharing though, AK14
