It’s a pointless stat. West Ham had 22 shots, no goals. We had 21 shots today, were terrible and got, rightly, gubbed

It's not really, it tells you something about the kind of encouragement we give opposing teams and the areas we allow them into.

It doesn't mean much in isolation but you look at it over a period of games and it becomes more apparent why we concede so many goals.

We don't control games in key moments and we allow teams to saunter up the pitch with the ball without laying a glove on them.

Proper sides don't allow this shit to happen every single game. The fact that only the team who are rock bottom have allowed more shots on their goal this season should be £#%&!ing alarming.

Because rest assured if we rock up to city next weekend and allow them 20 odd shots on our goal they'll be 4-0 up at half time. Again.

Yet we were undefeated this year until that last minute today.

I’m not saying we are good, and I’m not saying we won’t get annihilated next week with most of our defence out injured (we will), but it all comes down to the same things as it has all season - injuries, and ‘star’ players not prepared to put a shift in or give the ball away at every opportunity. With our first eleven, we can carry Bruno, but we can’t long term have him and rashford in the same team. Defence starts at the front, and neither of them is up to that job.

We didn't manage to lose in 7 whole games whilst playing the likes of Newport, Wigan Athletic and Luton.

Hardly something to crow about.

ETH talent ID is atrocious.
we are so bad at keeping possession and controlling a game so we go and sign a midfielder that was being benched at Chelsea because he is always losing possession. we can just about afford to have bruno in the side playing the way he has. now we have a btec version as well

IN ETH YOU lot trust.

exactly. and the performances hardly suggested we'd turned a corner. we beat teams that don't take their chances.

Hang on, there’s loads of excessive stats these days that the einsteins and young uns are into but I’m not having shots on target is a meaningless one ffs.

His drivel is worse than Moyes. The football is worse than Mourinho's. The results are worse than all of them. I can't wait for us to get rid and start again with a proper structure and a no excuses attitude.

We have rode our luck a lot this season, we could quite easily be 10th or lower given how some of the games have played out in terms of chances etc. We are actually outperforming our expected points tally by 10, which would have us in 11th. Probably gives an indication as to how shit we have actually been.

It boils down to the facts we already know. We have spent the player budget horrendously and don’t have a team comfortable in keeping the football. We can do it when Shaw and Martinez are fit but take them away and we have nobody capable of progressing a football up the pitch to our strikers.

Ten Hag is a possession based manager having to work with players like Maguire, Lindelof, Varane, dalot, Bruno, Casemiro, and The Scottish Player.

That’s the reason we looks so disjointed.

We were a functional counter attacking team, we have all the same players and are now a very poor possession based team when missing Shaw and Martinez.

EtH has never had the structure above him to go and find the players he needs, which is why he has tried to shoehorn ones in that he knows. We have to give him the time in the new structure to put a squad together that can play how he wants. Half of the players in the team he’s asked the club to sell but they were incapable

If we sold those players do you knows here we would be now position wise (maguire and The Scottish Player)

Also he didn’t even playing his own signings btw.

No manager gets the players he want every time but he has spent enough for to be much better that we are .

The teams we are being out played by aren’t better than us on paper.

You’d take our squad over Fulham’s everyday of the week, so why can’t we even match their level of play
