And it looks fantastic, just wonder how much of the soul of the place will be left

The new stadiums all look great but the atmosphere in them isn't the same its a nice day out interupted by the football.

We don't need a new stadium. We should just use Wembley.

Not really. And anyway, look at PSG. Spent a fortune, universally despised and still no champions league. Hardly the best outcome for selling your soul.

I have similar concerns tbh. Reckon it costs even more to keep you soul though..

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...adium-28943694

The Mirror ran with £3bn

The £1bn came from this, I think..

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/21032...adium-glazers/

That’s to revamp OT. Then there’s the training ground to be modernised etc. deffo a few quid required.

See below. The 8 stadiums for the world cup cost between 8 and 10 billion to build so a rough estimate would be 1-1.5 billion pounds. Maybe they could dismantle one, build it on the east stand car park and we could use that until they re build old Trafford

The latest figure, from Fatma Al Nuaimi, the Communications Executive Director at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy of the World Cup, was that the eight stadia cost $6.5bn. He was quoted in the same October Tass report.

But that figure is significantly down from the $8bn-$10bn the committee's secretary general Hassan Al Thawadi put forward when he was asked at the Chatham House Policy Institute in London in 2016.

This.

Even if you don't want to get romantic about the history of the ground, we've will got the biggest club stadium in the Premier League by 11,000+.

It doesn't need knocking down, it just needs the investment that it's been starved of.

Just let it rot and collapse around us?

Was £#%&!ing funny watching the lad 2 seats down get liberally dripped on every few seconds at the Forest game tbf, his attempts to avoid the soaking were amusing. It was great when the game distracted him for a few seconds and he forgot, only to be rudely reminded moments later

They’ve priced a revamp at £1bn Madrid have just paid €900m. I don’t know what to tell you pal.

It’d probably include sorting the south stand and quadrants out properly, new roof, actual screens etc.
